Mount Pleasant Community Arts Center (MPCAC), established in 2016 is a 501 (C)(3) non-profit corporation, governed by a volunteer board of directors. Its mission to promote and increase access to the arts such as plays, music and art appreciation programs in Mt Pleasant and the East Cooper area by creating a community arts center. The center will be all-inclusive, including facilities for the performing, visual and literary arts. It will be guided by the principles of inclusion, collaboration and innovation.

MARIE-LOUISE MORETO
Marie-Louise Moreto is a collage and mixed-media artist. She served on the Town of Mount Pleasant’s Culture, Arts and Pride Commission (CAP). She is retired from SAG-AFTRA SAG (Screen Actors Guild and American Federation of Television and Radio Artists). Her professional credits including working with the NY City Center’s Children’s Theatre. She was a member of the New York Ensemble Studio Theatre and the National Academy of Arts and Sciences, and from 1989 to 1993 served as a judge for the daytime Emmy awards.
CRYSTAL CLEMENT
Crystal Clement recently retired from a career in retail management. She Has a background in marketing.
CAROL HALLMAN
Carol Hallman is a retired educator, having spent 36 years in public education in the State of Ohio. Her career included assignments teaching high school social studies, serving as an elementary and middle school principal, and guiding instructional goals and standards as a K-12 Curriculum Coordinator. Professional recognitions included being voted Teacher of the Year at Glen Este High School and winning a national award from the Center for Economic Education for developing an exemplary curriculum in economic education. In 2013 Carol co-founded a community choir, Choral Arts Experience, in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, where she served as President of the Board of Directors.
RICK GUTOWSKI
Mr. Gutowski is retired from a career in financial management. He is the former CFO of KoolSpan,Inc and Mobeo, Inc. He joins the MPCA Board as our Treasurer
JAY SPRATT WHITE, MA, LPC
Mr. White is a licensed professional counselor.
JULIAN YOUNG
Mr. Young is the Founder/Artistic Director of the Florence Men’s Choral Society.
He is retired from Francis Marion University as Director of Alumni Affairs and Annual Giving.
