Promoting and increasing access to the arts in Mount Pleasant and East Cooper by advocating for a community arts center that would include facilities for the performing, visual, and literary arts is the goal of the Mt. Pleasant Community Arts Center. The Mount Pleasant Community Arts Center (MPCAC) receives funding from South Carolina Arts Commission, The Joanna Foundation, Hricik Family Giving Fund & Rough House Pictures.
The arts are important for individuals of all ages, and somewhere to gather for the arts is needed in the Mt. Pleasant community. The idea behind the community arts center is to provide just that, a location for individuals to come and explore their artistic ability. The center will provide space for all areas of the arts and will include areas for practice as well as a performance area. We are focusing on providing a facility that will provide space for performing, visual, and literary artists. While working to develop this center, the organization is working to promote arts in the community through smaller projects, all with a focus of promoting the arts.

- Develop programs utilizing local talent
- Improve awareness of the many benefits of the arts to citizens, businesses, and the town
- Foster communications among the creative community
- Promote the arts in Mount Pleasant and East of the Cooper
